Picking one song would be difficult for me...I have an inspiring mix I listen to while working These are some of my songs: [link] and [link] and also [link]
ha ha, too many I know...
There is a free downloadable software that works fairly well for slide shows and such found here: [link] I've downloaded it and used it, and it is fairly easy to work with.
Oakenfold rocks. I have no clue and never thought of it until you said something. Every month I update my journal, I am always listening to something different.
Many of my individual pieces come to me with music - of so much variety that I can't even think of a genre that would fit my whole gallery, let alone a specific piece.
Much of it, though not all, might go with Chopin's "Minute Waltz" - light and thoroughly unserious. (Anybody ever heard Barbra Streisand singing it? Even better.)
What does your gallery sound like to me? Byzantine chant, with occasional (Western) medieval/renaissance bits popping up here and there.
Flash would be an excellent tool for a video. As for format, I can't think of anything better than a slide show - perhaps with musical accompaniment. If you're feeling ambitious, you could add little buttons in the corner to pause and maybe also to open pop-ups with commentary on each piece.
