Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

NOVELIST,  MARCEL PROUST ONCE COMPOSED A THESIS WHERE HE MADE A FAVORABLE MENTION TO REALIZING THAT IN THE SMALLEST DETAIL THAT'S THROWN YOUR WAY,  IT CAN BE DISCOUNTED TO FALL BETWEEN THE CRACKS.  SHOWING US THE IGNORANCE WE SOMETIMES HAVE.
EVERYONE HAS GONE THROUGH SOME SORT OF OBSTACLE,  TRIPPED OVER A VINE IN THE GARDEN
... THINKING THEY'RE GOING TO DROWN IN LIFE ITSELF. (& THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING-LIFE)
WHAT A DRAG IT WOULD BE IF PEOPLE ALWAYS LOOKED UP TO THE SKY TO FIND THE TALLEST BUILDING & NOT THE SUNSET.  TRIPPING ON THAT VINE ON THE PATH IS LIFE'S WAY OF REMINDING YOU TO SEE WITH DIFFERENT EYES,  SO (MAYBE) YOU CAN APPRECIATE THE UNDERBELLY OF A WILD FLOWER OR THE WEATHERED ALABASTER LEAVES AT YOUR FEET.
(or In one case for me,  I was just 1 mile from completing a full circuit of cycling
when I overheard the weeping guitar of Eric Clapton @ rehearsal which wouldn't normally be enough to break my concentration.  I popped my earphones out & glanced in the direction the music was coming from.  Even though I'm not a fan of his,  the guitar work was stellar.  I turned my head straight ahead ... & I inhaled a yellow colias butterfly.)

deepest sympathy on losing your dear old friend. i have not had that sort of pain yet, i can only imagine. but i am glad you are strong and can keep your clarity!
it took me a long time in my early twenties to regain my ability to live intimately with the beautiful detail of my natural surroundings... had it as a kid.. got consumed by trivial things and damn near lost my mind! this is a good message you are sharing, coming from a true believer!
